Soundgarden singer Chris Cornell won't stand for bigotry. The rocker reportedly got in the middle of a verbal altercation between two men who were disagreeing about President Obama. The incident was going down in the packed Alaska Airlines lounge at the Seattle airport when Cornell stepped in.

The New York Post's Page Six reports that the business-attired man called the other man "queer" when he made a pro-Obama comment.

That's precisely when Cornell entered the fray.

An eyewitness claimed that Cornell said, "You're a [bleep]. You deliberately called him a queer to make him feel uncomfortable in front of a lot of people." How awesome must it be for Chris Cornell to have your back like that when he doesn't even know you? Political topics surely get people heated, too!

Security was called and the man who used the slur was asked to leave the lounge. Reps for the airline and the man who was called a "queer" thanked Cornell for standing up to the offender. The singer's rep confirmed the incident occurred and revealed that Cornell was actually traveling to an Obama fundraiser in San Francisco at the time. How's that for irony?
