Green Day have cancelled some upcoming promotional appearances as Billie Joe Armstrong is seeking treatment for substance abuse.

"Billie Joe Armstrong is seeking treatment for substance abuse," the band said in a statement on its site Sunday afternoon. "We would like everyone to know that our set was not cut short by Clear Channel and to apologize to those we offended at the iHeartRadio Festival in Las Vegas. We regretfully must postpone some of our upcoming promotional appearances."

News of Armstrong's status comes after a well-publicized rant Friday evening at the iHeartRadio Festival where the singer claimed the band's set was cut short. As shown in the clip below, Armstrong stopped a song the band was playing and said "I'm going to play a new song." On seeing a "1 Minutes" sign, Armstrong seemed to snap.

"Give me a f--king break! One minute left! One minute f--king left! You're going to give me f--king one minute?" Armstrong said. "Let me tell you something, I've been around since fucking 19 f--king 88 and you're going to give me one f--king minute? You've got to be f--king kidding me!

"What the f---? I'm not f---ing Justin Bieber you motherf---ers, you got to be f---ing joke! This is a f--king joke!" When he realized the band's time had ended, Armstrong proceeded to smash his guitar into the stage while bassist Mike Dirnt proceeded to do the same. "One minute, god f--king love you all! We'll be back," Armstrong said before tossing the microphone into the air.

There's no word as to where Armstrong is being treated or when his rehab will end. The news comes on the cusp of the band's newest album Uno! Let's hope Billie gets the help he needs!
