As I Lay Dying Are Selling Out Shows + Upgrading to Larger Venues in Europe
As I Lay Dying’s reunion tour is already exceeding demand overseas. Though the metalcore band has arranged a North American tour, six shows in Europe have been moved to larger venues so far.
Back in June, As I Lay Dying performed their first show in over five years. AILD’s instrumental section publicly forgave vocalist Tim Lambesis following his prison stint for attempting to have his wife killed. They announced their return to writing and performing earlier in 2018. Many European fans seem to have forgiven Lambesis as well, as evidenced by many 1000+ capacity rooms being sold out four months in advance.
As I Lay Dying informed European fans of the changes earlier today (Aug. 13):
“Europe: please note some venues have been upgraded due to high demand. These shows are selling fast - get your tickets now.”
Germany seems to be particularly anxious to see As I Lay Dying, as shows in Oberhausen, Berlin, Hamburg, Hannover and Leipzig have all been upgraded to bigger rooms. AILD’s Wien, Austria gig has also been moved to a larger space. The Dec. 8 show in Munich and Dec. 9 show in Karlsruhe are both sold out.
As I Lay Dying unleashed “My Own Grave” in June, with the lyrics bluntly addressing Lambesis’ murder-for-hire attempt against his estranged wife.
