Anthony Vincent + EROCK Give Green Day, Creed, Blue Oyster Cult + More the Ghost Treatment
Anthony Vincent of the "Ten Second Songs" YouTube channel has had a lot of fun over the years performing a number of well-known tracks in the styles of other popular artists and on occasion he's pulled in fellow YouTube superstar, guitarist EROCK, to lend a hand. It appears the two musicians have found their passion piece with their latest video, covering 10 Songs in the Style of Ghost.
"Me and EROCK are huge Ghost fans. We have conversations about the band almost daily so this was a real passion play for us." says Vincent at the end of the clip. The love shows immediately with the video promising a "Message from the clergy," which Ghost fans are quite familiar with from their social media posts.
"We wish to inform you the plague has spread to the Ten Second Songs Channel," says the message before the visual comes up of Vincent mirroring the look of Cardinal Copia, while EROCK appears masked as a Nameless Ghoul.
The new video opens with Madonna, Notorious B.I.G. and Joan Osborne getting the Ghost treatment, with EROCK hilariously offering hand gestures during the piano-centric "One of Us" while having nothing else to do. The first rock act to be represented is Creed, as the Ghost-ing of "Higher" brings to mind the demonstrative nature of Scott Stapp's original performance, making it a perfect choice to be turned into a Ghost-styled song.
Blue Oyster Cult's "Don't Fear the Reaper" is arguably the highlight of this medley, with the guys preferring the Ghost-styled version so much that a second "full-song" video has been made available below. Green Day's "Boulevard of Broken Dreams" and Led Zeppelin's "Stairway to Heaven," complete with EROCK guitar solo, finish out the video. See it all play out above.
Meanwhile, Vincent dropped some cool info for fans of his and EROCK's collaborations, teasing a new EP for the pair under the name Riptide. The singer says it's an ode to "that '80s rock arena shit," and offered a preview of a song along with a pre-order link.
