The 2013 NAMM (National Association of Music Merchants) show just got underway and Noisecreep will be there each day providing exclusive coverage. Perhaps the largest music trade show in the world, NAMM is not open to the public – only to employees of the exhibiting manufacturers and/or NAMM member retailers and distributors, along with selected members of the press.

Yesterday (Jan. 23) was media day and we were there to scope things out and get a sense of what will be covering in the next several days. We had a chance to speak with heavy metal guitar hero Alex Skolnick. The Testament axeman was on hand to do a special demonstration for Peavey.

During our filmed chat, Skolnik revealed a surprise. He's written a new book about his life and he shared with us a copy that was straight off the press. We'll be giving away a signed copy in the weeks to come, but for now, here's our talk was Skolnick who has a lot happening at NAMM before turning around and hitting the road again with Testament. If you'd like to order a copy of his new book, the suggests visiting the McNally Jackson website.
