The New York Yankees longtime closer Mariano Rivera had the opportunity to close out his career in Yankee Stadium with a ceremony where Metallica played 'Enter Sandman' in his honor. The classic has been the reliever's longtime "walk-in" song from the bullpen. The appearance by the metal vets was a touching one and put the icing on the cake to a memorable day for Rivera. Plus it got us thinking what metal bands we would like to see performing at our own retirement ceremony. This Readers Poll asks you to tell us which band you would book if you had the means and opportunity for your own retirement ceremony.

Are you an old school metal fan? Do bands that were the originators that have huge catalogs like Black Sabbath, Iron Maiden and Judas Priest seem ideal for your event? Each could likely pull out some classics that would fit the occasion perfectly. Or did you come up in the thrash metal era, where bands such as Metallica, Slayer and Megadeth ruled the metal universe? They too would have no shortage of songs to deliver one kick ass send-off.

Perhaps a cool reunion would send your celebration into high gear. Even though it likely would never happen given the current state of things, wouldn't you love to have the living members of Pantera reunite at your bash? And if you're a fan of more modern acts, we offer Tool, Avenged Sevenfold and Five Finger Death Punch who all could rock the house.

So if you had the means to pull it off, which metal band would you most like to secure for your retirement ceremony? And we've also offered an "other" option, in which case you can leave your selection in the comments section below this post. Vote for which metal band you'd most like to rock your retirement ceremony in the Readers Poll below:
