Lamb of God Talk About Their New Success

Lamb of God have probably seen the rise and fall of metal bands throughout their years of loving music and the artists who write their favorite songs. Now on that same rise, they're conscious to keep their identity as the demand for their music grows with popularity.

Since their latest album, 'Wrath,' debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard charts and No. 1 in Canada, the Richmond-based band finds themselves on the verge of opening for Metallica. "I think the goal for us is to keep working hard and to maintain the integrity and fan base we have," said drummer Chris Adler. "And not have any kind of weak material or missteps in our work ethic."

Speaking on behalf of the band, Adler was very up front and honest with the Vindy -- a syndicated paper based near Akron, Ohio -- in a recent interview. Their 2006 album, 'Sacrament,' put them on the map, but 'Wrath' is a return to their heavier, more underground sound. "It was certainly the goal to not soften up or go for the cash grab or for the commercial moment that a lot of bands seem to do."

Lamb Of God have an extensive set of tour dates between now and mid-November, so be sure to catch them - with or without Metallica - supporting the release of 'Wrath.'
