Good news for Babymetal fans, as 5B Management has confirmed Yuimetal is still a member of the J-pop / metal group. However, she will not be featured on their current U.S. tour.

Babymetal fans have taken to social media to express concern about the health and well-being of Yui. In December, she was forced to miss two shows in Japan due to illness, but fans really started freaking out when Yuimetal was not present at Babymetal’s May 8 gig in Kansas City. Yui’s absence went unannounced, shocking fans in attendance and others around the world who began speculating about Yuimetal’s health and continued involvement in Babymetal.

5B Management, who recently partnered up with the group, confirmed to Alternative Press that Yuimetal has not split with the band. "Yuimetal remains a member of the band, but she is not on this current U.S. tour. There is a new narrative for the future of the band which is currently evolving. The storyline has changed. This was the basis of the ‘Metal Resistance Episode 7: The Revelation’ video. The who, when, where, and how of The Chosen Seven will be presented as the concept unfolds."

Babymetal performed without Yuimetal again in Austin, Texas, last night (May 10) playing the same shortened set as they did at their Kansas City show. There’s still no update on exactly why Yui is not on Babymetal’s U.S. tour, but stay tuned in case any further news is revealed.
