After years of talking about a new album, Tool have finally revealed that their long-awaited new album will be released on August 30 later this year.

The band has been using their current tour as their vessel of good fortune, first performing two new songs, "Descending" and "Invincible," at Welcome to Rockville and now confirming the release date at another show. During the intermission of last night's (May 7) show in Birmingham, Alabama, a video screen displayed the text "August 30" as seen in fan posts on social media below.

Not long after the show, Tool confirmed the news with a Twitter post, also seen below.

Tool's website has yet to post the release date, still displaying the updated visualizer graphics that were added in late January. Official profiles also recently appeared on music streaming platforms such as Spotify and Apple Music, indicating that one of streaming's longest holdouts may finally release their catalog for digital consumption.
