Tommy Aldridge, Whitesnake Reunion: Drummer Rejoins Group
Once a snake, always a snake?
It looks like that's the case for Tommy Aldridge, who announced he is rejoining Whitesnake after Brian Tichy left the group earlier this month.
This will be the third time Aldridge is back in the group, and he couldn't be more than excited to play again with them.
"I can't express how honored & grateful I am to be back in the Snake fold," Aldridge said in an announcement on the band's website. "Working with DC & Co has always been a labor of love. SO stoked to be back & finish what we started!!"
On the site, David Coverdale shared mutual feelings.
"When I asked all the band members to put together their wishlist of potential drummers for us, every one, without exception, had TA [Aldridge] at the top of the list," he wrote. "Also, most of the fans who communicated their suggestions on WS.com wanted Tommy back in the band ... So, without further ado, we are delighted to welcome him back with us ... It seems it is our destiny to work together ... This is going to be so much fun ... Welcome back, TA!!!"
According to Ultimate Classic Rock, Aldridge was part of the group from 1987-1991, and during their 25th anniversary tour in 2002.
Whitesnake is set to tour overseas May 1-June 10.
