Them Crooked Vultures Offer ‘Mind Eraser, No Chaser’ for Free Download
You're going to have to wait until Nov. 17 to get your hands on the self-titled debut from Them Crooked Vultures, the too-good-to-be-true rock and roll supergroup featuring Queens of the Stone Age's Josh Homme, Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl, and Led Zeppelin bassist John Paul Jones. But if you head to iTunes right now, you can get a free sample from the disc.
Right now, 'Mind Eraser, No Chaser' is available for free from the digital download site, and you can even pre-order the full-length LP.
'Them Crooked Vultures' will feature more than a dozen songs, including 'No One Loves Me & Neither Do I,' 'Scumbag Blues,' 'Spinning in Daffodils,' 'Reptiles' and the first single, 'New Fang.' Them Crooked Vultures was first hatched back in 2005, but the band didn't start recording material for an until this summer.
The band has booked four West Coast dates around the release of the record, after having finished a brief run of East Coast dates. Noisecreep was on hand for the band's New York City gig, during which Homme apologized repeatedly for unloading so much new music on the audience. Them Crooked Vultures have shows lined up for Nov. 17 in Los Angeles; Nov. 19 in Oakland, Calif.; Nov. 21 in Seattle; Nov. 22 in Portland, Ore.
While 'Them Crooked Vultures' is almost assured to be awesome, Foo Fighters drummer Taylor Hawkins has heard the disc, and says "it's really great. I'm really proud of Dave, and I think he's having a real blast not having to shake his booty at the front of the stage for a while, you know?"
