The Contortionist

Indianapolis' the Contortionist have twisted their way through the recorded of 'Exoplanet!,' their debut album for Good Fight Entertainment. The album hits shelves on Aug. 31.

"The Contortionist is about music, and we're not out to show off our flashy skills or our cool shoes," guitarist Robby Baca told Noisecreep, offering a little bit of insight into the band's attitude toward playing. "We write the music and the concepts behind it to make the listener feel something. If you don't feel like you're on an alien planet when you hear our music, we're doing something wrong."

Aliens be damned! 'Exoplanet!' was recorded by Unearth guitarist and all around metal maniac Ken Susi. "Ken was such an awesome dude. He made fun of us a lot, but still, it was a great time," Baca revealed. "When recording got stressful, he always knew how to lighten the mood. He also played a lot of FarmVille on Facebook. He's got a pretty rad farm."

We're sure he got a pretty rad recording out of his charges in the Contortionist, too!

The Contortionist will tour in advance of 'Exoplanet!' with For the Fallen Dreams, Legend and I Declare War.
