No matter how many times I've caught them live throughout the years, Suffocation is one of those bands I'll never tire of. At least year's Inferno Festival in Norway, I was hoping that after seeing Autopsy turn in a crowd favorite performance, that the promoters would bring in a band like Suffocation to the main stage, and my wish came true last weekend.

Oslo isn't a city known for having mosh pits at their shows, but that changed on Friday night (March 29) when Suffocation took the stage. Vocalist Frank Mullen wasn't feeling too good earlier that day, but his performance later that night found him in fighting shape. Suffocation played to a huge crowd, giving the death metal veterans a rapturous welcome.

I was fortunate to catch up with the Long Island Hall of Famers to talk about their latest album, Pinnacle of Bedlam, their thoughts on Hurricane Sandy, the band's current headlining tour and much more.
