Slipknot’s Corey Taylor Wants to Form a Supergroup With Velvet Revolver’s Duff McKagan
Slipknot and Stone Sour frontman Corey Taylor wants to form a supergroup with Velvet Revolver and ex-Guns N' Roses bassist Duff McKagan.
The two musicians met and became close friends after Taylor auditioned for the vocalist spot in Velvet Revolver that Scott Weiland left vacant in 2008. Even though he didn't land the job, Taylor and McKagan continued to jam together on new music. The pair has already completed a batch of songs and the Slipknot star hopes to form a new band to perform the new material. On Fuse TV's 'A Different Spin,' Taylor said, "Me and Duff will probably do some stuff later. Me and him, we really hit it off, and we're really close, and we started writing songs together, and we've got some really good stuff. So, you never know. There might be a mystery supergroup out there - me and Duff and some other weird people - making some weird music that people are, like: 'What? That's them?' So, yeah, maybe. We'll see what happens."
Noisecreep will keep its eyes peeled for more information on the project as it becomes available.
