Slayer, Megadeth Confirm American Carnage Tour
In what has been highly speculated, thrash giants Slayer and Megadeth have finally confirmed their massive U.S. tour. Co-headlining the trek for the first time in close to 20 years, this half of thrash's 'Big Four' have teamed up to bring on the 'American Carnage.' With Testament as their special guest, and rumors of High on Fire opening the show on some dates, the tour kicks off on Jan. 18 in Seattle and leaves the U.S. on Feb. 14 to finish the previously-postponed Canadian Carnage leg of the trek.
With tough economic times still taking hold of many across the States, Slayer and Megadeth are offering limited amounts of $10 tickets for every show, which they have dubbed the '1991 price' not only to alleviate hefty prices, but also in honor of their last tour together -- Clash of the Titans in '91 (which also featured Testament!). Presales start this week, while the general onsale date for most of the shows is Nov. 20.
Slayer have just released their well-received 10th studio album 'World Painted Blood' earlier this month, while Megadeth's latest and 'best album in years' 'Endgame' came out in September. Testament will be releasing a special tour edition of their heralded 2008 album-of-the-year 'The Formation of Damnation' next February during the trek.
