Slash and Brian May Team Up for Badger Song
It's too much guitar god for one song! Slash and Queen guitarist Brian May have teamed up to perform together on a charity track called 'The Badger Swagger.' It's good riffs for a good cause.
Slash contributed his parts remotely, recording in Los Angeles, while May did his thing at Abbey Road Studios in London, England.
Upon hearing a mix, Slash immediately took to Twitter to express his excitement. He wrote: "Just heard a mix of 'Badger Swagger.' Sounds great. Such an honor to be on a record w/ @DrBrianMay & Sir Richard Attenborough. iiii]; )." Slash is clearly stoked that he was able to participate.
The song should be available via download today. It was created by Artful Badger and supports Team Badger and the 'Stop the Cull' petition, according to BWBK. The movement, which has garnered 240,000 signatures, feels that the cull is an unnecessary slaughter. They are demanding that the government in the U.K. stop their plan to cull badgers in an effort to reduce their population and thus reduce tuberculosis in cattle. More details about the anti-cull effort can be found here.
It's a good thing that the badgers have guitar icons in their corner, giving a voice to the voiceless.
