It came as a surprise to many. In early November, Sister Sin revealed that they were making the decision to split after 13 years of rocking around the world, due in part to the burnout of the touring life. But in the aftermath of that decision, vocalist Liv Jagrell reveals that she's intent on continuing her music career.

Speaking with Sleaze Roxx, Jagrell talked in depth about the decision to split. "Actually, it’s just that we toured too much and we got burned out. That’s the simple answer," said the vocalist when asked about the split. "They just felt like they did not want to do this anymore ... This year, we had been out for almost four months or something so it’s a lot of time away from family. It’s a lot of time away from friends. And also just to survive in the business is hard so I think we maybe worked too hard in the last years [laughs]."

The vocalist says there were no hard feelings with the members who decided they didn't want to continue. She also added that continuing under the Sister Sin moniker but with different players replacing those who no longer wanted to be a part of the band was not something she considered.

"If it’s going to be Sister Sin, it’s got to be at least three of the members. For me, that’s Sister Sin," said the vocalist. "I would never take the name Sister Sin and continue by myself because that will feel… That’s not right because Sister Sin have been together for over ten years. In my opinion, it’s got to be somewhat close to those members otherwise it’s not Sister Sin."

Asked about her future, Jagrell stated, "I am not giving up music," before adding, "I am 100 percent sure that I will still be doing this. I just don’t know exactly how, what and where right now because this is very sudden and very just recent so I haven’t thought about that so much. I am still trying to understand that the band that I had for over ten years is not here anymore. I mean, it’s like a relationship. It’s like someone that you have been for that long. It takes time to think through and like just everything but I will be back in the music business for sure."

Thinking ahead to her next project, she stated, "I think [it'll be] something a little bit different. I don’t want to be doing the same thing. I can’t do the same thing because Sister Sin is always going to be Sister Sin. It’s so much the whole band and it’s also Jimmy and Dave’s writing so a bit different."

Stay tuned to see what Liv Jagrell does next.
