Phil Anselmo has his hands in a lot of metal pots. One of the things he prefers about his band Down, however? "I may play in a lot of different bands but do they have this fanbase? No they do not, those are more self-indulgent projects that I feel like doing. Not that I don't feel like doing Down, that's not what I'm saying, the thing is Down does have a hardcore following. Outside of two other bands I've been in, everything else has been a small fanbase and or just me enjoying myself. Down is an obligation," he said.

He also commented that while Down's new EP is not being issued by his own Housecore label, he wishes it was! "I wish it was," the frontman lamented. "It should be, it really should but you know to each his own but what the fuck. You got to work with five different guys so it's like being married to a bunch of sissies." [Loudwire]

Katatonia had quite an unconventional yet thoroughly awesome homage paid to them in "Skyrim," the biggest video game out there right now! There is a quest in the game called "Darkness Returns," in which the player is sent out to retrieve Nystrom's journal. That is a reference to Katatonia's guitarist Anders Nystrom. How beyond cool is it for Nystrom to be immortalized in a video game? [IGN]

$150,000. That's how much the inaugural Aaron Lewis Invitational Charity Golf Tournament, held Saturday, Aug. 11, at the Crumpin-Fox Golf Club in Bernardson, Mass., earned. The Staind singer raised the funds for the R.H. Conwell Community Education Center in Worthington, Mass. The money ensures the center will be able to continue to operate and keep its doors open for the area's children. Lewis' It Takes a Community Foundation has additional charity events planned for later this year. [Via Press Release]
