Norma Jean, ‘Meridional’ — Video Cover Art

Any band can reveal their cover art via a link on their website. Yawn. Snooze. Who needs ambience when you reveal artwork that way? But then again, Norma Jean aren't every band. These Christian noise metal merchants have elected to reveal the cover art to their new album and Razor & Tie debut, 'Meridional,' through this self-designed video clip that they provided exclusively to Noisecreep.

The frenetic, frantic clip is set to a brand new song called 'The Anthem of the Angry Brides,' and it reveals brief snippets and flashes over the cover art, which boast what appears to be wolves, upside-down bodies, tusks, elephant trunks and internal organs. The clip impacts like an earthquake, leaving you shaken and stirred, and it makes you want to see and hear more. Now that's what I call effective marketing.

"We take a lot of pride in all the art we use," vocalist Cory Brandan told Noisecreep. "Every record has a certain vibe, and we always want the artwork to represent that same energy. This record has a very specific, very dark feel throughout and I know that of any record we've ever released, this is definitely the best artwork we've ever had. The art was done by Jason Oda of Starvingeyes.com. I've been a fan of his work for years, and it was really awesome to have him working with us. The song in this video is a clip from the song 'The Anthem of the Angry Brides,' [which is] track two on the new record, 'Meridional.' I made this video myself."

'Meridional' is out July 13. The band will tear stages limb from limb this summer on the Rockstar Energy Drink Mayhem Festival.
