2011 still has a month-and-a-half to go, but Metallica are already planning big things for 2012. The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame-approved legends have been announced as the very first headliner for next summer's Download Festival. The event takes place at Donington Park in England every June and is one of the highlights of the European summer tour season.

But wait. It gets even better. The NME reports that the band will be playing their 1991 self-titled album aka 'The Black Album,' from start to finish. 'Tallica played 'Master of Puppets' from front to back at Download in 2006; this writer was there to witness it and enjoyed every note!

The dates for Download 2012 are Jun. 8 through 10. Tickets go on sale next Friday (Nov. 18).

Time for a vacation across the pond, Metallica fans?
