“Yes, that was us on Game of Thrones tonight. It was an incredible experience to be on set. Thanks to Dan Weiss [the show's executive producer], the cast and crew, and everyone else involved.” That’s what Mastodon shared with fans on their Facebook page Sunday night, after their cameo on HBO's hit show Game of Thrones. Band members Brann Dailor, Bill Kelliher and Brent Hinds appeared as extras in the episode called "Hardhome" as “wildings.”

Dailor talked about the honor of getting to shoot with the cast and crew in Belfast, Northern Ireland. "It was such an incredible experience to be on set as extras for our collective favorite show Game of Thrones and to be wildlings murdered and then brought back to life by White Walkers was beyond amazing,” he continued. “I watched my best friends Brent and Bill, murdered right in front of me as I myself was stabbed in the stomach and had my throat slit multiple times, and I didn't mind at all. It made me love being in Mastodon even more. We are more than privileged and honored to have been a part of one of the greatest stories ever told on film, and the catering wasn't bad either."

In case you missed this weekend’s episode, HBO will be re-airing the show a number of times including tonight (6/1) at 11:35 PM and tomorrow (6/2) at 9 PM. Mastodon are also featured on the Catch the Throne: The Mixtape Vol. 2. You can stream their original song “White Walker” below.

Despite being massive television stars now, the group are still managing to make time to tour this summer. Mastodon play at the Free Press Summer Fest in Houston, Texas, on June 6 before heading to Europe and the United Kingdom for most of the summer.
