Go ahead, get it off your chest. It's feels like it's been way too long since you've seen Machine Head in concert. But in early 2018, you'll get your "catharsis" in more ways than one. Machine Head have announced their first major tour of the upcoming year, while also revealing that their next studio album will be titled Catharsis.

Singer/guitarist Robb Flynn says, "It's been far too long since we've demolished venues in America. We have had an awesome and productive break writing our new album Catharsis, but now it's time for Machine Head to go melt some faces! The reaction to our last 'Evening With' tours in America were nothing short of incredible, so once again these dates will be 'Evening With' and will see us performing two-and-a-half to three hours every night with no opening bands."

He continues, "We LOVED performing as an 'Evening With' for you Head Cases, and you guys loved it as well, the freedom to do whatever the f--k we wanted for as long as we wanted every night was liberating. It's not what everyone else is doing, and frankly, there are not a lot of bands who could even pull it off, but Machine Head CAN pull it off, and we are excited as f--k to do it again. We are carving our own path here, playing by our own rules, and as an artist, it's the best feeling in the world!"

Flynn promises, "No festivals period, no 45 minute slots, no supporting some stupid DJ, no parking lots in a rain storm, The Head will only be 'headlining,' so come on down and rage!!"

The run kicks off Jan. 25 in Phoenix and continues through March 7 in Seattle. And for those interested there are Gold VIP Tour Package and Platinum Soundcheck Packages available for the shows. The gold package includes a general admission ticket, a meet-and-greet with the band, a group photo opportunity, early entry to the show, a souvenir lanyard, a Machine Head flag and a meet-and-greet t-shirt. The soundcheck package comes with the same items as the gold package, but with a soundcheck viewing on top of that. For more details, check here.

As for their new album, Machine Head recently wrapped recording of the disc with Zack Ohren overseeing production at the Sharkbite Studios in Oakland. Though an official release date has yet to be announced, Catharsis is expected to arrive in January 2018. We'll keep you updated as details become available.
