Heavy metal and violent video games go together like steak and potatoes. There have been some thrilling marriages of the two mediums in the last few years, but the folks at Electronic Arts have taken things to a whole other level on their upcoming 'Brütal Legend' game. With a total of 75 bands and over 100 songs showcased (and check out the screenshots) this gaming experience will undoubtedly have something for every kind of metalhead -- no matter how fickle their taste might be.

Created by the demented mind of visionary developer Tim Schafer, 'Brütal Legend' stars Jack Black as Eddie Riggs, a legendary roadie summoned to a world of heavy metal where mountains are made of amplifiers, killer spiders spin guitar strings and rock legends roam the landscape. As Eddie, you'll crush skulls with a battle axe, ravage the road in a super-charged hot rod and unleash the power of rock to reign down fire from the sky -- all to save humanity and become a 'Brütal Legend.' Come to think of it, that sounds like the storyline to a Hammerfall song! Motörhead man-at-arms Lemmy Kilmister even provides his whiskey-scarred voice to the game, upping the authenticity factor even more.

Did we mention the soundtrack yet? Electronic Arts has covered all the bases here folks. Thrash legends like Anthrax, Slayer and Testament are included, as are death dealers such as Dark Tranquility and Rotting Christ. But the onslaught doesn't stop there. You also get the guitar shred of Dokken and Racer X, and epics from the likes of Savatage, Judas Priest and Metal Church. If black metal, industrial, doom or hair metal is your thing, 'Brütal Legend' has it, too. Hell, they've even included some pirate metal from Running Wild! To say that Noisecreep is fired up about this game would be an understatement of colossal proportions.
