Swedish doom merchants Katatonia will return to the U.S. and Canada this fall on their Uncrowned + Vertikal Tour. Their sound is autumnal, so it's a perfect time for the band to return. Katatonia will co-headline with Cult of Luna, while Intronaut and TesseracT will open the two-week run of major markets.

The tour begins on Sept. 23 in Boston, with tickets going on sale next Friday, Aug. 9. Fans can expect a revamped and retooled setlist, including some unearthed nuggets that the band has hardly ever played. The notion of delivering these songs lives enthralls the band, as well.

Vocalist Jonas Renkse of Katatonia commented, "Since we have been touring your continent quite a bit the last few years, we thought it was about time to re-decorate the good ol' setlist a little. Right now we are rehearsing and going through some of our hidden gems, songs that we haven't yet picked up or rarely have played live before. It will probably be as exciting for you as it is for us!"

Renkse also assured fans that the "hits" and their favorites will find a home on this setlist, as well, saying, "Please note that it won't be an 'old-school' party, but an evening with atmosphere so thick you could cut it with a knife! Oh, and we will probably have time to play some of the 'hits' as well. All in all, we will squeeze out as much Katatonia as possible each and every night, so let's do this one together once again, shall we?"
