Imagine the thrill of getting to play alongside some of your rock star heroes. A number of aspiring musicians did just that over the weekend, taking part in the 20th anniversary of the Rock and Roll Fantasy Camp. This edition, which took place in Los Angeles over the weekend, found "campers" learning from the likes of Judas Priest, longtime Dio and Black Sabbath drummer Vinny Appice and Quiet Riot's Rudy Sarzo among others.

Over the four-day journey, campers first paired up into bands and had a party where they got to know the counselors, then they began the work of preparing for their eventual performance. The campers received tips on stage presence, learned how to play some classic rock songs and attended a master class before hitting the stage in front of an audience.

During the weekend, radio host Mancow spoke with Judas Priest about their involvement, and Richie Faulkner, who grew up a fan of Judas Priest and is now their guitarist, spoke of why the band decided to take part in the Rock and Roll Fantasy camp. "We had done this two years ago and it was such an education for us seeing the passion in everyone's eyes and reconnecting with why we do it and what goes into this process, the group collective that we do this for," stated Faulkner. "We come up with ideas, we're working together and working as a team and just reconnecting with that really. We see what dedication everyone has to what they do, cause I looked up to these guys myself."

In the videos below, you'll see some of the campers playing alongside Judas Priest on such tracks as "Electric Eye" and "You've Got Another Thing Coming." To learn more about the Rock and Roll Fantasy camp, check here.
