Any wedding that involves light sabers promises to be a good time, and based on the video evidence just posted over at People.com, the New Year's Eve nuptials of former 'American Idol' contestant James Durbin didn't disappoint.

Durbin -- the California metal dude who did rock fans proud by finishing fourth on last year's 'Idol' season and has since released the album 'Memories of a Beautiful Disaster' -- kicked off the wedding by singing John Mayer's 'Gravity' as he walked down the aisle. While covering Mr. 'Your Body Is a Wonderland' might not have been a very rock 'n' roll move, the couple later played Journey during the ceremony, and when they made their grand entrance at the reception, they rocked the 'Imperial March' from Star Wars.

Both the newlyweds and their guests waved light sabers, and later on, they sliced into a layered carrot-and-chocolate cake decorated with the Journey lyrics they're tattooed with.

"This wedding was the perfect way to kick off the New Year," the happy couple told People.com. "We are looking forward to living happily ever after."
