There's a little sticker splashed across the outside plastic of Iwrestledabearonce's debut album, 'It's All Happening,' that, in essence, recommends the disc to fans of chaotic New Jersey band the Dillinger Escape Plan and Icelandic pixie songstress Björk. And sure enough, at times, the band's record does sound like Dillinger, while other tunes - like "White Water in the Morning," "The Cat's Pajamas," and "Black-Eyed Bush" - sound like Dillinger crossed with Björk.

Iwrestledabearonce lead throat Krysta Cameron says she's a big fan of Björk, and doesn't deny she sounds sort of like the former Sugarcubes singer.

'The thing about Björk is she has an amazing voice and writes amazing music," Cameron says. "She doesn't think like other people do. She's like me...we think too much. But I am also influenced by so many other people, too. Her voice is very motherly to me. I've always looked up to her. Her, Tori Amos, Veruca Salt, Fiona Apple, and a lot of women in music. I think it all kind of comes out, you're influences, no matter what you do."

She says she hears the Björk association quite a bit, but that her vocals are always evolving. "I think, as a singer, I've grown a little bit more," she says. "My older stuff, in my older band, I noticed I tend to always mumble when I sing, and I said this time, I want to pronounce things a little more, and push myself a little more. People tell me, 'You remind of Björk mixed with Joan Jett,' and that's cool, because you're influenced by these people."

"We actually just used Björk's vocal tracks," jokes guitarist Steven Bradley, "and put blastbeats behind them."

While calling the band a cross between Björk and Dillinger is almost too accurate, Bradley says you shouldn't head into 'It's All Happening' with any expectations.

"We don't fit into any genre," he admits. "We've done more over the past year than any other band we've been in. It wasn't like we decided a year ago to get instruments. We've all been doing DIY tours and hating our lives, living in crappy vans and no air conditioning, for years. People tell us we don't sound like anything, and that's awesome."

But catch the band live, and the songs from the record may sound somewhat different than you'd expect, because the band often changes the arrangements of the songs while on stage.

"We don't change the songs drastically," he says. "We tinker with the songs. If people want to hear the record, they should listen to the record. But when you come to the show, we're jamming, we're breaking sh-t, and lighting people on fire and playing the songs a little different."
