High on Fire Deliver Epic Animated Fantasy Video for ‘The Black Plot’

High on Fire have delivered one of the year's more eye-catching video with the release of their clip for "The Black Plot." The animated clip, created by Skinner and Hey Beautiful Jerk, just made its broadcast debut on Adult Swim.

As you can see in the video above, the action centers on an intergalactic battle in which warriors from both sides tear each other apart while a supreme ruler watches on. Eventually, one of the leaders of the fight breaks free to challenge the supreme ruler, but results are not exactly what you may suspect. Watch it all play out in the video above.

“I wanted to make an animated short film with Hey Beautiful Jerk, I just didn't know how completely crazy it would get," says Skinner. "At first I thought we should do a real simple story with action fights to wear down the timing a little bit. But then I thought, f--k it, here's a super complicated story with a million characters and it's off the wall crazy and s--t. Wanna do it?”

“This has definitely been the most challenging and the most rewarding project in the history of Hey Beautiful Jerk," adds the team of Mark Szumski and Gina Niespodziani. "Creatively, we did not make many concessions and we really pushed ourselves to see how far we could take this thing. It worked.”
