It's in the books! After hoping to start their U.S. touring career last fall, Giraffe Tongue Orchestra graced the stage for the first time in the U.S. Friday (March 18) at the Loudwire X CLRVYNT showcase in Austin, Texas.

The supergroup, which features Alice in Chains' William DuVall on vocals, Dillinger Escape Plan's Ben Weinman and Mastodon's Brent Hinds on guitar, Dethklok's Pete Griffin on bass and The Mars Volta's Thomas Pridgen on drums, had initially planned to tour last fall when Hinds suffered a broken leg. The group did release the Broken Lines album last September, but hadn't hit the concert stage stateside until last night.

The set started off with the hard-driving "Adapt or Die" (seen above). "That sounded awesome," beamed Weinman after the first song, praising Hinds' guitar solo. The performance also featured such standouts as the raucous favorite "Crucifixion," the excellent "No-One Is Innocent," the time-shifting "Fragments & Ashes," "Blood Moon" and "Broken Lines" before leaving the stage with distortion still feeding from their instruments. See fan-shot footage from their performance above and below.

Joining the band on the Friday bill at the Sunset Room in Austin were Primitive Weapons and God Mother, the latter of which was making its U.S. debut. The Loudwire X CLRVYNT showcase continues tonight (March 18) at Austin's Sunset Room with Power Trip, Pig Destroyer, Thou, Fister and Ringworm.
