Disfear Bassist Henrik Frykman Passes Away
Noisecreep would like to extend its deepest condolences to the friends, family, and bandmates of Disfear bassist Henrik Frykman, who passed away last week after a long battle with cancer, according to a press release issued by Relapse Records.
The remaining members of the band -- Björn Pettersson, Marcus Andersson, Ulf Cederlund and Tomas Lindberg (At the Gates) -- have issued the following statement about their fallen comrade: "It is with heavy hearts we inform you that on Friday the 25th of March Henrik Frykman passed away in his home after a long battle with cancer. Henrik will be greatly missed by family and friends."
Frykman had been a part of Disfear since 1990, when the Swedish band went by the name Anti-Bofors. While Disfear underwent numerous changes over the course of two decades of existence, Frykman always remained a constant. Disfear's latest album, 'Live the Storm,' was released in 2008.
