2014 Denver Riot Fest Moves to Sports Authority Field at Mile High
The show must go on … and it will for Denver's Riot Fest organizers. The event ran into some issues when the permit for the original site in Byers, Colorado was denied, but after some quick negotiations, Riot Fest will now take place at the Sports Authority Field at Mile High in Denver.
The event will take place during the Sept. 19-21 weekend. Organizers revealed that the stadium venue was chosen after management agreed that Riot Fest could essentially recreate Byers, Colorado and May Farms on the new festival grounds. In addition, free parking will be made available to the festival's patrons and Mile High's location now provides those attending with more public transportation options. All tickets for Riot Fest will be honored at the new location and refunds for those who purchased camping spots will be processed beginning today (July 18).
In addition to great music from the likes of Slayer, Rise Against, Bring Me the Horizon, Primus, Weezer, Social Distortion, The Cure, A Day to Remember, Sublime With Rome, The National, The Flaming Lips, Clutch, Taking Back Sunday and many more, there will still be plenty of sideshow attractions. Carnival rides and games, lucha libre, a miniature golf course, a circus tent full of oddities and a wide array of food vendors will be part of the event.
Although organizers have officially made the move of the festival and will not change this year's location, they've formally filed an appeal against the Arapahoe County decision to deny their 2014 permit.
One, two and three-day passes for the Denver-based festival are still available. Visit the Riot Fest website for more information.
