David Hasselhoff will release his 14th studio album, Open Your Eyes, this year. The Baywatch legend is exploring his love for heavy metal on the record, collaborating with Ministry and Tracii Guns, among others.

This will be the Hoff’s first new album since 2012’s This Time Around. While pondering a direction for the record, Hasselhoff decided to take his music to a heavier place. Back in April, the actor told Zeit, “I’m doing some heavy metal songs on my new album. Why not? I don’t have an album title yet, but it should read: Everything is allowed. I do everything because I can. Because I want it.”

One curious cover on Open Your Eyes is a version of Neil Diamond’s “Sweet Caroline” featuring Al Jourgensen and Ministry. "I didn't even have to take acid, and I felt like I was trippin' balls. David Hasselhoff has a new album coming out, some originals and some covers, and for whatever reason, he decided I would be the perfect person to mix this. [Laughs] So it's, like, 'I'm game! I'll take the challenge. This could be cool.' And sure enough, man, as soon as I heard it, I felt like I was on some of Timothy Leary's best MDMA I've ever been on,” Jourgensen said to Billboard.

Along with the Neil Diamond cover, the Hoff will release his take on David Bowie’s “Heroes,” Modern English’s “I Melt With You,” Echo & the Bunnymen’s “Lips Like Sugar” and more.

David Hasselhoff’s Open Your Eyes album will be released Sept. 27 on Cleopatra Records.
