After more than 30 years in the business, the list of metal greats Megadeth haven't toured with is presumably a short one. Evidently, there's still at least one big name to cross off the list according to mainman Dave Mustaine — and that name will be getting crossed off before year's end.

Talking with WRIF (audio below, transcription via Blabbermouth), Mustaine discussed future touring plans for Megadeth as they continue to support their acclaimed 2016 effort, Dystopia. "Believe it or not, we've got some cool things going on for the States," he began. "We've got two really great things we're gonna be doing. We'll be heading out some part of the spring or summer and then we just were told about an opportunity at the end of the year that really, really excited me."

Elaborating, the singer / guitarist revealed, "It's somebody I've never played with before that we're actually gonna be supporting. They were so cool that we would step down from being a headliner to support this group."

Now the question is who? If you don't count the Big 4 shows as a proper tour, the possibility exists that this band could be Metallica, especially after both sides made amends in recent years. Is it possible they'll be hitting the road with Guns N' Roses?

What if it's a tour of more modern acts? Could we see Megadeth providing support for Slipknot or Korn? We'll just have to wait and see, won't we?
