Colorado's Clinging to the Trees of a Forest Fire -- easily the best metal band name we've unearthed this year -- will release their Prosthetic debut, 'Songs of Ill Hope and Desperation,' on June 8. The band, oft describe as "funeral grind" for its grind and doom tendencies, terms which may seem mutually exclusive, has determined that the music contained on the album will be not only their most dynamic but their bleakest and dirtiest material. Dynamic? Good. Bleak? Even better. The dirtiest? Oh yes!

The band released the debut EP, 'Harmonies From Bleeding Mouths,' which they followed up with 'Omega Drunk on the Blood of Alpha,' a full-length, on Debello Recordings. Are you seeing the same pattern we're seeing here? Lots of word soup titles with apocalyptic phrasings.

The band will also reduce venues to smoldering piles of cinders this summer when they tour with Oregon's Burials. But in the meantime, they can be seen at the following venues.
