Brujeria, the death metal / grindcore outfit featuring an elite cast of metal musicians portraying Mexican drug lords, are back with their first new record in 16 years. Pocho Aztlan was recorded around the world over the last several years and will be released on Sept. 16 through Nuclear Blast, followed by the 'Make America Hate Again' U.S. tour with Cattle Decapitation and Piñata Protest.

The band has been teasing studio output in recent years, releasing singles in 2008, 2010, 2014 and earlier this year for the Record Store Day effort, Viva Presidente Trump! (teaser video below). Mainman Juan Brujo started Brujeria in 1989 to combat the violent and racist acts of the Los Angeles Police Department. Their lyrics are entirely in Spanish, portraying scenes of the drug war, the racial divide and issues at the border between the U.S. and Mexico. Brujo commented on Brujeria's themes, stating, “A lot of Brujeria songs are true stories and if they haven’t happened yet, they will happen.”

The 'Make America Hate Again' tour will take Brujeria, Cattle Decapitation and Pińata Protest on a three week jaunt starting Oct. 1 in Baltimore, Md. From there, the trek will hit the Northeast before heading West, finishing up in San Diego, Calif. on Oct. 18. Cattle Decapitation will be out in support of last year's The Anthropocene Extinction and Pińata Protest will be touting 2013's El Valiente.

Each member of Brujeria has adopted an alias, furthering the mystery by obscuring their faces with bandanas and refusing to perform live for a number of years. It is rumored that members of Carcass, Napalm Death, Cradle of Filth and more have taken part or are currently members of the group. Pocho Aztlan will feature Juan Brujo (vocals), Fantasma (vocals, bass), Hongo (guitar, drum programming), El Cynico (bass, guitar, vocals), Hongo Jr. (drums), Pinche Peach (vocals, samples), Pititis (female vocals). A Kuerno (guitar), Sangron (backup vocals) and Guero III (backup vocals).
