‘Black Sabbath: The End of the End’ Concert Film to Hit Theaters
Today, legendary rockers Black Sabbath have announced their new concert film Black Sabbath: The End of The End. The film chronicles the last days of tour with the band on their final show Feb. 4, 2017 in their hometown of Birmingham. And, as part of its release, the movie will becoming to theaters for one night only.
Fans will get an inside look at the last show, as it hones in on the journey of Ozzy Osborne, Tony Iommi and Geezer Butler. It shows the group at the top of their game, with masterful production and the group sounding extremely tight. Song wise, the set features fan favorites like "Iron Man," Paranoid" and "War Pigs" but will also feature tracks played only for the show, and more songs that span the band's discography.
Of the performance, the rockers stated, "To bring it all back home after all these years was pretty special. It was so hard to say goodbye to the fans, who’ve been incredibly loyal to us through the years. We never dreamed in the early days that we’d be here 49 years later doing our last show on our home turf.”
In addition to the swan song set, fans will also get to follow the band on the day of the show, in some behind the scene footage filmed by director Dick Carruthers (also responsible for Led Zeppelin: Celebration Day, The Who: Live at the Royal Albert Hall). It's going to be a killer show to watch. Ozzy himself says, “What a journey we’ve all had. It’s f-king amazing."
