Atreyu have spent the last couple of years promoting their In Our Wake album, but the time has come for new music. During a chat with KCAL 96.7's RadioActive Mike Z for his Wired in the Empire show, vocalist Alex Varkatzas revealed the plans for recording their next effort.

“We’re going to start on a new record tentatively in January," stated the singer. "Things move a lot faster these days with the way technology is and with our work ethic as seasoned vets at this point, we’ll probably have a new record out summer or end of year, something like that, but we’ll start recording in January.”

While details are scarce at this point, Varkatzas revealed, "We’re gonna reunite with John Feldmann who did the Lead Sails and the latest record and we’re gonna rock and roll.”

“We get along with him really well. We have the same hyperactive mindset and work ethic when it comes to our music. He puts a lot in and we put a lot in and we have a good time, make a lot of coffee, it’s good,” the singer added, also revealing that their big fans of Feldmann's band Goldfinger. “It’s a lot of fun. We make John sing all the Goldfinger songs at least once a session.”

Varkatzas revealed that the group likes to write in the studio and that they're still in the "tour mindset" at this point, so the creative part for the new record is still to come.

But before a new record, there's still a fair amount of touring left in 2019. Head here to see Atreyu's remaining 2019 tour schedule.
