In addition to being one of the greatest voices to emerge from the Swedish metal scene, At the Gates/Grotesque vocalist Tomas Lindberg has contributed a foreword to 'Metalion: The Slayer Mag Diaries,' a 744-page hardcore book compiled by Jon "Metalion" Kristiansen to be released by Bazillion Points. Lindberg's connection to Norway's Slayer Mag dates all the way back to the 1980s, when he and Kristiansen were part of a core group of Swedish and Norwegian headbangers running amok in Scandinavia.

"Metalion and his Slayer Mag are responsible for me (and a lot of other Swedes) getting into the death metal underground," writes Lindberg. "I clearly remember how proud I was when Grotesque got a mention in the classic mag -- this meant more to me than anything else at the time!"

'Metalion' is an eclectic book; the part anthology, part memoir has been in the works for years. The book boasts an astounding 600 reproduction pages from every issue of the original Slayer magazine, ranging from the early '80s all the way up to 2010. Additionally, the book tells Kristiansen's life story, from his humble origins as an alienated outsider to his much-respected current role as a central figure in the Norwegian black metal scene. The tome also includes 100 visually arresting and rare photos.

'Metalion: The Slayer Mag Diaries' will be out June 6th.
