10 Kick Ass Metal YouTubers
Metal can't always be taken seriously. It's inherently filled with humor, intentional or unintentional, as well as musical complexity and YouTube is where those opposing worlds collide. In this Loud List, we're going to introduce you to 10 Kick Ass Metal YouTubers.
Okay, you probably already know a handful on this list. Anthony Vincent's "Ten Second Songs" series is a viral phenomenon where the singer covers a song of any genre in the style of various artists, metal or not.
It's an insightful look at the fluidity of music and how well songs translate in other genres. What else is impressive is the range of singing styles Vincent is able to pull off so capably, which is half the appeal of his videos.
Two YouTubers who have a knack for creating some of the quirkiest metal content on the web are Jared Dines and Rob Scallon. Dines tackles some of metal's absurdities like the need for more strings on a guitar, which culminated in a video where he plays a massive 18-string axe. Scallon goes further outside the box, even once turning a shovel into a functioning guitar.
Let's not forget Samus Paulicelli, drummer for Decrepit Birth. He once composed a song, recording only farts and other butt-belch noises, using them as the vocal lines, ushering in a new era of scat singing. When he's not on the can recording, he can be pretty serious, showing off unorthodox drumming techniques.
