Top 10 Rock Stripper Songs: The Best Pole Dancer Tracks Ever

Whether you call them stripper songs or simply dance tracks, one thing is for sure: rock bands sure love to write songs about (mostly) naked women. The trend first became hot in the '70s and then became virtually synonymous with the '80s. Not that modern bands aren't getting in on the act; some of the biggest rock songs of the past few years have been certifiable stripper anthems.

10. 'Girl Money'

From Kix's 'Hotwire' (1991)

Don't know Kix? Then you're missing out. One of the most underrated bands of the '80s, Kix blasted out of Hagerstown, Md., with fury, purpose, and party rock. Enter 'Girl Money.' Spoilers be damned, but guess what? The song is about spending money on, ahem, strippers. Shocking! With lines like "Sometimes you're out / And sometimes you're in" and a bangin' guitar solo, the mood is just about right for working the pole.

9. 'Unskinny Bop'

From Poison's 'Flesh & Blood' (1990)

By the time Poison rolled around with 'Unskinny Bop,' the Sunset Strip-via-Pennsylvania rockers were already big on the strip circuit. Their music was being played in strip bars all over America, and most of the band members had dated dancers at one time or another. While the phrase 'Unskinny Bop' apparently has no meaning, that doesn't stop it from having all sorts of sexual innuendo that would make any teen boy -- or grown man -- blush.

8. 'American Woman'

Salute the flag! This cover of Canadian rock legends the Guess Who earned Lenny Kravitz a Grammy. While some say the song has controversial lyrics in regards to the American military, the original songwriters disagree, saying there was nothing anti-American in the tune. Whatever the case, Kravitz's version of 'American Woman' has a hard-driving beat that gets a crowd of bachelor party dudes pumped every time.

7. 'Cherry Pie'

From Warrant's 'Cherry Pie' (1990)

No "best stripper songs" list is complete without Warrant's crowning stripper-friendly moment, 'Cherry Pie.' While Poison dabbled in innuendo with 'Unskinny Bop,' Warrant takes it to a whole new level. If you're writing an academic paper on the rhetoric of disguising sex acts in art, just refer to a few of the lines from 'Cherry Pie.' Aside from the lyrics, the song's guitar parts make even the most reserved woman want to whip her hair around at least a little. Swing it!

6. 'Pour Some Sugar on Me'

From Def Leppard's 'Hysteria' (1987)

Def Leppard were already a household brand by the time 'Hysteria' rolled around. 'Pyromania' made the British lads superstars across Europe and North America, thanks in large part to the non-stop rotation of the single 'Photograph' on MTV. While 'Hysteria' didn't immediately take off sales-wise, the release of 'Pour Some Sugar On Me' skyrocketed the band into the stratosphere in terms of singles sales. Few bands have written lyrics more worthy of a lap dance than the guys in Def Leppard: "You got the peaches, I got the cream / Sweet to taste, saccharine / 'Cause I'm hot, so hot, sticky sweet / From my head, my head to my feet."

5. 'Bad Girlfriend'

Seriously? Theory of a Deadman may have created one of the most blatantly raunchy rock songs of all time with 'Bad Girlfriend.' Consider the lyrics: "She likes to shake her ass she grinds it to the beat / She likes to pull my hair when I make her grind her teeth / I like to strip her down she's naughty till the end / You know what she is, no doubt about it / She's a bad, bad girlfriend." Bad girlfriend aside, the song pretty much screams "daddy issues" -- and isn't that what every good stripper anthem should be about? Plus, the video was shot inside -- you guessed it -- a strip club.

4. 'Shakin' Hands'

Nickelback singer and main songwriter Chad Kroeger might be the most talented person on the planet when it comes to writing songs filled with sexual innuendo. Enter 'Shakin' Hands,' one of the many successful singles from the multi-platinum 'Dark Horse.' While 'Shakin' Hands' is a great song to dance to, it's multi-dimensional in that it is also a cautionary tale: "She had her eyes on the prize as the girl next door / You grow up quick when you grow up poor / It's the only way to LA that she knows / The Hollywood pose: teeth, tits, and toes."

3. 'Crazy Bitch'

When 'Crazy Bitch' came along, everything changed for Buckcherry. Suddenly, the band had a signature song and marketing plan. Based on personal experiences with so-called "crazy bitches," the video for the song finds the band locked in a jail cell with a hot female cop dancing and presiding over her inmates. By using strip clubs as a marketing tool, Buckcherry proved they could force the hand of censors and the FCC by getting their song – in edited form – played on terrestrial radio. Constant word-of-mouth buzz and listener requests helped the song go twice platinum.

When Canadians My Darkest Days teamed up with Chad Kroeger, guitarist Zakk Wylde of Black Label Society, and rapper Ludacris, something explosive was bound to happen. The video for 'Pornstar Dancing' was shot at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas and features dozens of beautiful ladies spinning on poles and partying poolside with the band. Meanwhile, the music is just the perfect tempo for dancing on a stage, or in your bedroom.
