The Virginmarys Unplug ‘King of Conflict’ Album, Plot U.S. Tour

The Virginmarys released their album 'King of Conflict' back in February, and now they have given the collection an acoustic reinterpretation as 'King of Conflict (Stripped)' comes out July 9. The group is also telling fans to tweet lyrics from the album and for their troubles the band will give them handwritten copies of the lyrics from a track of their choosing.

For The Virginmarys vocalist Ally Dickaty, finding a new creative avenue for the album was a gratifying experience. "It was great recording 'King of Conflict (Stripped),' said Dickaty. "I write mostly on acoustic so it's cool to get the natural roots of the songs exposed and for people to hear and feel a different side of our lyrics."

'King of Conflict' received solid reviews upon its release, and the British rock trio will get a chance to showcase their chops on tour this summer. The group play several European dates through the middle of July, including a show at London's Hyde Park on July 5 that features headliners Bon Jovi and Bush.

Several days later the band head to the U.S. where they start things off with a performance in Sauget, Ill. (Pop's). The nearly two week tour wraps in Columbus, Ohio (The Basement, 7/28). Their U.S. tour should be met with support, as the band received their share of buzz after receiving an iTunes Single of the Week feature for their catchy and bittersweet tune 'Just A Ride.' They've also received some attention for the album's lead-off song, 'Dead Man's Shoes.'
