It's Suffocation out, Hate Eternal in at the first-ever Housecore Horror Film Festival, hosted by Philip Anselmo of Down and Pantera fame. So there will be no shortage of death metal at the event. The powers-that-be are just being forced to swap out one of the genre's most brutal bands for another. So it all balances out.
No matter how many times I've caught them live throughout the years, Suffocation is one of those bands I'll never tire of. At least year's Inferno Festival in Norway, I was hoping that after seeing Autopsy turn in a crowd favorite performance, that the promoters would bring in a band like Suffocation to the main stage, and my wish came true last weekend...

	The story stemmed from an interview Mullen did with Horns Up Rocks! where he spoke about the group bringing in a replacement vocalist for some of their future touring engagements so he could stay home and not lose his day job...

Suffocation drummer and founding member Mike Smith has left the band. The skins smasher's rumored departure was confirmed in an email interview the band conducted with HitKiller, a Russian site.
