Suicidal Angels

Being from Greece, a country steeped in history, it's no shock that Suicidal Angels' music is influence by all that antiquity. "Greece is a country with large history," vocalist/guitarist Nick Melissourgos told Noisecreep. "There have been some great wars around, some awesome inventions, monuments. It's hard not to be influenced when living in a country of such strong past. I would say that the religion of Greece has affected me in the way that I write down the lyrics.

"Church is really strong in Greece. If you ever come over, you will be really surprised by the number of churches that you will see around. This is something that annoys me, especially when people follow like sheep about what they are told. You have the right to believe in whatever you want, but don't be so narrow-minded that you reject anything different from [what] you've been taught or used to follow. It's not bad to think or see over the wall that you have [been] restrained to live!"

Melissourgos feels that thrash fans will be drawn to 'Sanctify the Darkness' because it is pure thrash. Nothing more and definitely nothing less. "If you like fast, evil and neck-breaking music, I think 'Sanctify the Darkness' should be in your CD collection. It's something that comes straight in to your face. We haven't used too much of the music technology in the album because we wanted a natural album, as much as it could be. It's a 2009 production with a strong touch of the old-school feeling."
