Rescuers Use Ozzy Osbourne and Alan Jackson Songs to Locate Lost Child

A young boy with eclectic taste might have music to thank for saving his life.

On Tuesday, (Sept. 13), rescue workers used recordings of Ozzy Osbourne‘s ‘No More Tears’ and country great Alan Jackson’s ‘Good Times’ to locate Joshua Robb, an 8-year-old autistic boy who’d gone missing the day before in California’s San Bernardino National Forest.

The idea to drive around blasting the synth-heavy metal jam and boot-scootin’ country tune came from autism experts, who suggested the boy’s two favorite songs might lead him out of the woods and toward safety. The plan worked, and Joshua emerged from his night in the wilderness unharmed.

“My goodness me,” Ozzy’s wife, Sharon, said upon hearing the news. “I have to go now and tell Ozzy… He’ll probably start crying.”

If metal’s not careful, it’s going to get a good name.
