Red Fang have spent their summer in Europe playing at such festivals as Hellfest, Download, and Sonisphere. Come fall they are changing things up with a U.S. tour starting Oct 9. It's a huge month for the band, as their third studio album 'Whales And Leeches' debuts via Relapse Records.

Producer Chris Funk, best known for his work with the Decemberists, and mixer Vance Powell put together the new album, and they're the same pair that worked on the band's previous effort, the 2011 album 'Murder the Mountains.'

Before their fall tour, Red Fang will also headline the 12th annual TotalFest on Saturday, Aug. 17 (Missoula, Mont.). Their first stop on their October run has them stopping in Sacramento, Calif. (Oct. 9, Harlow's).

Formed in 2005, the band are more than open to sharing their music online, as their first two albums can be streamed at their Bandcamp page. If you're unfamiliar with the group's music, try checking out their addicting, guitar drenched tracks 'Wires' and 'Hank is Dead,' which are off 'Murder the Mountains.' Although their music would be considered straight away, hard driving rock, they carry a melodic knack which should ensure their longevity.
