Metallica

Have you ever wanted to play a video game on your iPhone that employs the music of Metallica? There's an app for that. Tapulous, the creators of Tap Tap Revenge, a music game in which you tap colored balls in time with the beat of a song a la 'Rock Band,' 'Guitar Hero,' and 'Frequency,' have teamed up with Metallica to bring more brutality to your iPhone. A new app called 'Tap Tap Revenge: Metallica,' the second the band's released, is now ready for download

For just $5, fans can download the app, and rock out to its 10 tracks, including 'Sad But True,' 'King Nothing,' 'Master of Puppets,' 'One,' 'For Whom the Bell Tolls' and of course 'Enter Sandman.' It's the second such game Metallica has been involved in, after last year's 'Guitar Hero: Metallica.'

'Tap Tap Revenge: Metallica' is the first game in the series to include a Bluetooth-based 'Battles Mode,' where players can challenge friends to a point-by-point battle, deploying bombs and other special objects to distract the opposition and come out victorious. The game also comes with a 'Career Mode,' a new fast-paced 'Arcade Mode,' where players are challenged with yet more bombs and other special objects that make the game even that much more difficult.

According to Myles Ulrich, Lars Ulrich's 11-year-old son, the game is a must-have app. "You haven't lived 'till you've played this," he said conveniently.

Those who download the app will be entered to win cool stuff, including a trip to Las Vegas for Metallica's Dec. 5 gig, with airfare, hotel, tickets, and meet-and-greet passes included.

On Oct. 30, Metallica will be joined by Ozzy Osbourne at Madison Square Garden as part of the 25th anniversary celebration of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
