Metallica 30th Anniversary: Final Video Featuring Black Sabbath Posted
Metallica are still celebrating the fact that they’ve been going for 30 years strong. In addition to performing four, fan club-only, up close and personal shows in San Francisco last month, all of which boasted a gaggle of high-profile guests, the band is allowing non-fan club members to enjoy some of the action by releasing sizable portions of video footage from those four special nights.
The band just released the fourth (and presumably final) video from the special series of gigs. This footage is from the Dec. 10 show at the Fillmore in San Francisco. It’s 44 minutes and 44 seconds worth of ‘Tallica goodness, so if you’ve got three-fourths of an hour, this is a more than worthwhile video to absorb.
So what does ‘Tallica have in store for you with this particular video? Well, host/emcee Jim Breuer offers up his best Lars Ulrich impression, while the band engages the expected masterful playing and much, much more. You can get full set list details here.
Be sure and pay close attention to frontman James Hetfield’s bad ass bullet belt. He gets two horns up, held high, for that one. It’s also cool to see longtime producer Bob Rock thwapping the bass onstage with the band, as he was an integral part of several of the band’s most commercially successful albums and ‘Some Kind of Monster,’ as well.
