KillMatriarch is a dark electro-industrial group that sound and look like a million bucks, but they do it all on a DIY basis. Formed in the spring of 2010 by vocalist Matriarch and former System of a Down and The Apex Theory member OnTronik, the duo have gained a cult audience throughout the world without the benefit of a record label or management behind them.

Back in the beginning of the year, Noisecreep premiered the video for 'Gunz,' a track from their 'Order Through Chaos' EP. We caught up with vocalist Matriarch to see what the duo has been up to since then.

The last time we spoke with you was back in January. Can you give us a quick rundown on what you've been up to since then?

Well, I'm pursuing a solo project called none other than Matriarch [laughs]. I really wanted to dig deeper into myself in my art. I also have a dark jewelry line called Cadaverous. Ontronik is also working on a separate project.

You obviously have a darker electro-tinged sound, but what kinds of people are you seeing at your shows?

25 years olds and up are more open to something new, nostalgic, and innovative. It takes some times for younger fans to warm up something like that. Not true in every case though.

You've have some producers turn in great remixes for you. Do you have any dream collaborations?

Oh, definitely! That list of artists would include Trent Reznor, Atticus Ross and Marilyn Manson. Maybe we'll be able to work together someday.

The music on your EP has cinematic qualities to it. Is scoring work something you would be open to in the future?

I actually started out scoring movies when I was 18-years-old. I ended up acting in the film just so I could get my music placed on there too. I got to collaborate with Collective Soul which was cool. I definitely welcome any opportunity to get my music heard in any facet. I love movies and I think the greatest ones have the best soundtracks. I love the soundtracks for 'Romeo & Juliet' as well as 'Great Expectations.' They're just epic.
