Goatwhore is a workhorse band, spending many months out of the year on the road. Still, members work regular jobs to keep their passion of making metal alive.

"I do framework – like pictures and mirrors – for hotels," Goatwhore vocalist Ben Falgoust explains to Noisecreep. "When I'm at home, I bust my a-- at work. I work extra hours if they need me because I'm back and forth with them. I sit on the saw and cut all the molding, assemble the molding, put in the pictures, wrap it and sometimes we deliver."

Falgoust says the job is perfect for him because of the flexibility and solitude. "... It is cool because you have your stereo and I'm kind of to myself. When you're on the road, you're stuck in this van with lots of people. When you are home, you want free space of your own."

Like most songwriters, Falgous has been burned in the past by failing to immediately write down an idea or new lyric – but not anymore. Now, Falgoust says he'll stop whatever he's doing to snag those ideas. "There's been times when I thought I could remember and I didn't jot it down, and I've lost some really cool ideas. Whenever anything comes to me, I try to immediately stop what I'm doing and write it down. Even when we're on tour, I'll be at the wheel of the van, and – it might not be safe! – I write it down."

Goatwhore just released 'Carving Out the Eyes of God' via Metal Blade.
