Andrew Stockdale may have been the mastermind and main creative voice behind Wolfmother, but he has refused to let his career coast on the moniker's vaunted reputation. Stockdale's debut solo album 'Keep Moving' was released early last month to positive reviews, and now the musician is embarking on a U.S. tour to promote the effort.

The tour begins July 26 in Dallas (Trees), with further stops in New Orleans (July 29, One Eyed Jacks), New York (August 6, Bowery Ballroom), Chicago (August 13, Magic Stick), and San Francisco (August 24, The Independent). The trek should be a creatively fertile experience for Stockdale, who earlier in the year talked to Noisecreep about the liberation of doing a solo record.

"In my mind I finally have the key to open things up and I started thinking 'I can try anything! Who cares?!' Once you open your mind, it's amazing as a creative person," said Stockdale about creating the new album. "Waking up. Making stuff up. It's good to be genuine and I had no idea that was the case."

Although Wolfmother is a revered rock band, the group only released the 2005 self titled debut and the 2009 effort 'Cosmic Egg.' Don't expect Stockdale to fade away anytime soon, even if converting Wolfmother fans (and finding new ones) should prove a challenge for the musician. His penchant for melodic hard-rocking hooks still remains intact as a solo act, as evidenced by the catchy title track.
